For any question about this policy or your data, write to elisabeth@closermethod.com.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with other businesses for their own marketing.
Running this business means using third-party tools. Each one receives only what it needs, and each has its own privacy policy.
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Kit (formerly ConvertKit) | Email list, broadcasts, automated sequences, open and click tracking |
| Stripe | Payment processing and checkout. Card data goes to Stripe directly |
| Google Analytics 4 | Aggregate site traffic and behavior measurement |
| Meta Pixel | Advertising measurement and audience building for Instagram and Facebook |
| ManyChat | Instagram direct message automation, on pages that offer a DM keyword |
| Netlify | Website hosting and server logs |
| Google Fonts | Typeface delivery |
| TikTok | Content publishing to our own account only. See the section below |
We operate an internal tool that uploads our own short-form videos to our own TikTok account using TikTok's Content Posting API.
This integration does not collect, access, or store data belonging to any other TikTok user. It does not read your TikTok activity, your followers, or your viewing history. If you are a visitor to this website, this integration touches none of your data.
The access token authorizing the tool belongs to our own account, is stored locally and encrypted at rest, is never transmitted to any third party, and can be revoked at any time from TikTok's account settings. Uploaded videos arrive as unpublished drafts and are reviewed by a human inside the TikTok app before anything is published.
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement, through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not break the site. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and adjust ad personalization in your Meta account settings.
Wherever you live, you can email elisabeth@closermethod.com and ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We will respond within 30 days.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, including objection to direct marketing. Our legal bases are consent for marketing email, contract performance for purchases, and legitimate interest for basic analytics and site security. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.
Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
The site is served over HTTPS. Payment card data never touches our servers. API credentials and access tokens are stored in local environment files that are excluded from version control, and are never embedded in client-side code.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your data has been exposed, tell us and we will investigate.
This site is meant for adults running businesses. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
This business is operated from the United States and, at times, from the European Union. Your information may be processed in either, and in other countries where our service providers operate. Those providers use standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards where required.
If you are in the EU or UK, you can exercise the rights described above regardless of where processing happens, by emailing elisabeth@closermethod.com.
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes and, for anything significant, subscribers get an email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
