what is the workflow vault?
The Workflow Vault is a free four-file context system you paste into a Claude Project once: project structure, identity, voice rules, and product ladder. Every chat after that starts with your business loaded, not a blank box you have to re-teach from scratch. I built it across 100+ shipped products. This post explains what each file does and when to grab it.
most people who pay for claude still open a new chat and type a one-line prompt. then they spend fifteen messages explaining who they are, what they sell, and how they want it written. the model is fine. the missing piece is the system around the model. that is what the vault fixes.
if you have read the ai adoption gap, you already know the pattern: access is not the bottleneck, setup is. the vault is the smallest setup layer i ship for free. it sits upstream of skills, plugins, and delegation prompts. without it, those tools still guess.
what's inside (four files)
01 · the project file structure
how i organize every claude project so outputs come back finished, not half-built. folder names, what lives where, and what the model should read first. this is architecture, not inspiration.
02 · the identity document
who you are, who you serve, what you sell, how you talk. paste once. claude stops inventing a generic founder persona every session. pairs with the brain-doc idea in claude memory setup, but you own these files as plain text.
03 · the voice and output rules
the constraints that keep output in your voice: banned words, formatting, tone, what "done" looks like. this is the same class of fix as why chatgpt sounds generic, except the rules live in the project instead of your head.
04 · the product ladder
what you sell, at what altitude, to whom. claude uses this to route every draft: free lead magnet vs paid offer vs high-touch install. without it, every CTA drifts toward whatever the model saw last week on the internet.
blank chat vs vault (at a glance)
| blank chat | workflow vault pasted | |
|---|---|---|
| session start | re-explain your business | context already loaded |
| voice | generic assistant tone | your rules, every time |
| offers | model guesses your ladder | product map is explicit |
| token spend | burned on context rebuild | spent on the actual task |
| output shape | half-finished drafts | structured to your file layout |
how to install it (five minutes)
- download the zip at closermethod.com/vault (one email, instant on the page).
- open a claude project (not a one-off chat).
- paste each file into project knowledge or upload as project files.
- run one real task you do weekly. compare output to yesterday's blank chat.
no code. no api keys. if you can paste, you can use it. this is the same "tool vs system" split i wrote about for creators in ai tool vs system problem: the vault is the system layer. better models sit on top; they do not replace it.
the people getting real output from ai are not using better models. they are feeding the model better context, faster.
what the vault is not
- not a course. four text files you paste.
- not a replacement for skills. skills automate repeatable tasks. the vault is the baseline identity and offers those skills assume.
- not the frame asset vault (different product, different lane).
the takeaway
stop paying to re-teach claude your business every monday. paste the vault once, then spend your tokens on the work that ships. when you are ready to build something with the context loaded, start at the free download. everything else ladders from there.
