every time we handed a burden to a tool, we got a piece of our minds back. and we spent it making things.
before writing, we had to remember everything. the mind was full, with little room left for invention. once we could write things down, stories, recipes, promises, debts, the mind had space again, and we made literature, and music, and art. we became the first species to create for its own sake.
the printing press did it again, and handed reading to everyone, not only to the rich who had the time to be cultured while everyone else worked.
i think ai is the next one. it can carry the admin and the busywork we were never meant to hold, and hand the hours back. the question is what people will make with them.

here is the honest part.
these same tools can also flatten us. used without care, they turn everything into competent sameness, and they tend to rescue the lost far more than they lift the skilled. whether ai becomes a printing press or a copy machine depends almost entirely on how people are taught to use it.
that is the work i want to do with you. teach people to build, teach them to stay the author of what they make, and reach everyone, not only the ones who already feel invited.
